Europe, the United States, and Britain in Prophecy
Greetings, Wayne, a servant of God, by the grace of God, teaching truth under the authority of Jesus Christ to any who are willing to receive it, or as Jesus put it, to any who have ears to hear (Mat 11:15).
The truth of God, which is given by the Holy Spirit of truth (Joh 14:17) to them that obey Him (Act 5:32), is hidden from the world (2Co 4:3, 4; Rev 12:9) by Satan.
However, God is calling (Joh 6:44, 65) any who seek Him with a sincere heart (Jer 29:13), a heart willing to flee from idolatry (1Co 10:14) and willing to keep all of His commandments (1Ch 28:9).
So, this teaching will focus on the similarities of the ancient house of Israel and its modern day descendants among the nations worshipping God in ways contrary to His commandments. I will be the words in green. Purple Highlights will be key words or phrases of truth.
Let us begin by asking why, in coming into the knowledge of the truth, is it so important to understand and remember the things of old from the Old Testament? Because God speaks to us there through His prophets would certainly be considered a main reason.
Here is what God has to say about remembering the things of old, through the prophet Isaiah. The admonition is to the house of Israel, the people of the covenant or agreement made with God, transgressing against God’s second commandment which is not to worship idols (religious statues, images, trinkets in the form of jewelry like crosses or medallions):
Isa 46:8 Remember this, and show yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O you transgressors.
Transgressing God's second commandment against idolatry.
Isa 46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
Isa 46:11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executes my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.
If you have ever asked, what exactly is prophecy?, God has just answered you with these last 3 verses; words which He has spoken, of things He will bring to pass. And interestingly enough, one of God’s prophecies, which will be fulfilled at the return of Jesus Christ is two verses down:
Isa 46:12 Listen to me, you stouthearted [Hebrew: chiefs, strong ones, leaders, those in authority] that are far from righteousness:
God’s righteousness, His commandments and statutes including His Holy Days. And throughout the many generations, the leaders of the descendants of the covenant breaking house of Israel, have become far from righteousness. But here is the prophecy of what Jesus Christ is going to do about it at His return:
Isa 46:13 I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry [delay]: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel [people or house of Israel] my glory.
Zion is another name for Jerusalem, city of peace, and clearly salvation is not there now. Salvation will be composed of peace and unity and being of one mind in the truth (Psa 85:10).
The Apostle John was given a vision of the prophecy's future fulfillment in the book of Revelation:
The New Sky and the New Earth
Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven [Greek: sky] and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem [this WILL be a city of peace], coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride (Isa 61:10; 62:5; Joh 3:26-29) adorned for her husband [Jesus Christ].
Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle [or house] of God is with men [on the new earth], and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God [one God, the one and only true God (2Ki 19:15)].
Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Rev 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said [notice who is speaking by the words in red] , Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
Rev 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
"It is done" confirming the prophecy being fulfilled when it comes to pass. Let us see His final words after He fulfilled prophecies related to, and including, His crucifixion:
Joh 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished [prophesy fulfilled]: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost [Spirit].
We will now look at God's second commandment which is not to associate the worship of Him with materialistic items - idols used in pagan worship:
Deu 5:6 I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
Consider the freedoms that the people in the western nations have enjoyed, never having to experience being in bondage as slaves. And for all that freedom, this is all that God commands:
Deu 5:7 You shall have no other gods before me.
What gods?
Deu 5:8 You shall not make you any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above [the heavens above; celestial bodies, sun, moon, stars, planets], or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
Do you follow and trust in a horoscope (Jer 10:1, 2). Can the celestial bodies talk to you in the way God does through His prophets in the Old Testament and Jesus Christ in the New Testament? Do you worship God and pray to Him with religious statues, images, and jewelry?
Deu 5:9 You shall not bow down yourself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting [Hebrew: overseeing] the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate [Hebrew: hate] me,
Of course, if you hate God, there is no fear of God, and therefore no fear of breaking His commandments. And this leads to iniquity which God oversees being passed on from one generation to the next.
When there is no fear of God, there is no wisdom; and if there is no wisdom, there is no understanding. Notice what the angel told Daniel about understanding at the time of the end, our time now:
Dan 12:8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
Dan 12:9 And he said, Go your way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
Dan 12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried [tested (1Pe 4:12); speaking of the called of God, saints, beloved, or elect, as we find them called in the New Testament epistles]; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
Who are the wise? What is wisdom, and how did they get this wisdom that leads to understanding?
Ps 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endures for ever.
And going back to the book of Deuteronomy, we will see that God also shows mercy to those who keep His commandments:
Deu 5:10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments [Joh 14:15].
Only thousands out of billions actually keep His commandments. And a little gem of truth there on how to receive God’s mercy, providing we are showing mercy to others, as it is written in the New Testament by Jesus Christ:
Mat 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
And for those who claim to know God but are willfully ignorant or defiant of His commandments:
Tit 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate [Greek: unapproved].
Abominable? Disobedient? Unapproved? How and why?
Eze 14:6 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.
They believe in God, but when it comes to leaving man-made holiday traditions or separating themselves from their pretty or expensive idols to obey God, they are defiant. Why? Because they have no fear of God. Notice this sound advice and warning from the prophet Samuel:
1Sa 12:24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he has done for you.
Speaking of the house of Israel having been freed by God from slavery and brought into a peaceful promised land of their own.
And from the book of James:
Jas 2:19 You believe that there is one God; you do well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
Because they know there is a time of judgement coming for them (Mat 8:29).
Jas 2:20 But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Works that come from obedience to God and putting His commandments into a way of life.
So, are the descendants of the people or house of Israel primarily among Europe, the United States, and British nations that have prospered so greatly in time past? How can we know? By prophecy, by God’s counsel, by God declaring things that are not yet done, but bringing them to pass, to prove that He truly does exist.
Only the one true God could foretell events far into the future. Some have already been fulfilled, and some are being fulfilled in our time. And regarding man’s best intentions or ideas for humanity:
Ps 33:10 The LORD brings the counsel of the heathen to nothing [heathen being another name for Gentile, anyone outside of God’s inheritance, the house of Israel]: he makes the devices [Hebrew: intentions] of the people of no effect.
Does “Thy will be done on earth” have a clearer meaning now?
Ps 33:11 The counsel of the LORD stands for ever [remember, "My counsel shall stand", from Isaiah 46:10?], the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
The Hebrew word used here for heart can mean heart, feelings of the heart, or in the intellectual sense the mind; in this case the mind of God, thus the phrase "thoughts of His heart", which should have been translated thoughts of His mind (1Co 2:16).
Now, take a few minutes and meditate on this next verse, considering all the blessings that the United States and British nations have enjoyed:
Ps 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom He has chosen for his own inheritance.
And the people He has chosen for His own inheritance is Israel, the people of the 12 tribes of Israel. Have a look at these scriptures in Isaiah concerning the 1000 year rule of Jesus Christ:
Isa 19:24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:
Isa 19:25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.
Have you ever considered how America and British nations were greatly blessed in their early days, whose God is the Lord?
But what about today, as these nations condone abominations that move them further away from the Lord? Why are calamities you see in the news headlines falling on these nations today along with the rest of the world? Well, the truth ahead will reveal why.
In the meantime, what is the Lord doing?
Ps 33:13 The LORD looks from heaven; He beholds all the sons of men [all mankind].
Ps 33:14 From the place of his habitation He looks upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
Ps 33:15 He fashions their hearts alike; He considers all their works.
He sees, He watches. But He has prophecies, according to His timing, His counsel, that must be fulfilled, and then the end of the age of man’s rule will come and be replaced with the Kingdom of God.
Notice, from the Lord Jesus Christ, speaking of a prophecy being fulfilled in our time today:
Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Notice the phrase “for a witness”. I would like at this time to take us back in time where God is speaking to Moses just before he was to sleep with his fathers.
There are three important topics covered:
1. A prophecy from God of the house of Israel’s betrayal and breaking of the covenant made with Him:
2. The reason why God has watched the many evils and disasters that have occurred in the nations whose God is the Lord and continue to occur with growing frequency. You have often heard the phrase “why would God let such a thing happen? Well, we will see why.
3. The breaking of the covenant, with idolatry in particular, was to be recorded by Moses as a witness against the people or house of Israel.
Topic 1. God's prophecy to Moses:
Deu 31:16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land [whoring also described in other places in the Bible, figuratively, as fornication in the sense of committing adultery against God through idolatry (Jer 3:8, 9; 5:7; Eze 16:32; 23:37;], where they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.
So, when you hear people from nations whose God is the Lord ask “why has God forsaken us"?, remember who forsook who first.
Now topic number 2, next verse, the reason why God stands by watching:
Deu 31:17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?
But why does God label idolatry as an abomination. What is the big deal? Consider this next verse:
Deu 32:17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.
Have you ever researched the origins of holidays like Christmas and Easter, or who you are actually bowing to when doing so to an image of a dead Jesus on a cross? Keep reading.
Deu 31:18 And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought [brought about; committed], in that they are turned unto other gods.
Pagan gods; linked to popular holiday traditions, like Christmas, Easter, St. Valentine’s day, and any other man made holidays that have roots in paganism and are not the Holy Days that God commanded from the bible. These holiday traditions of men can be traced back in history to the very pagan practices that God commanded against.
Continuing with topic number 3, again next verse, Moses recording God’s words as a witness against the house of Israel:
Deu 31:19 Now therefore write you this song for you, and teach it to the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.
Have you heard the phrase “it is written”? Well, God by the hand of Moses ensured the trespasses of the house of Israel were written, recorded as a witness against them. Notice the following verses:
Deu 31:20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore unto their fathers [which He did (promised land), also fulfilling prophecy], that flows with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.
Deu 31:21 And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I swore.
And the song has not been forgotten; it continues to be taught as it is right now. By who mostly? Would that seed not be the descendants of the house of Israel among the blessed nations whose God is the Lord as we read in Psalm 33:12? Blessed because God kept His promise, His side of the covenant. But those blessings were also prophesied with warnings of curses for disobedience.
But now why the curses we see continuing to grow with no clear answer from men on how to reverse them? God answers. Study the following “blessings for obedience” scriptures: Deu 28:1-14, and then the curses warnings for disobedience beginning in verse 15.
Now, continuing with Moses in Deuteronomy:
Deu 31:22 Moses therefore wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel.
So, we see that it is by remembering or looking into the former things of old, while being led by God’s Holy Spirit, which He gives to them that obey Him, that we are given wisdom and understanding and the reasons for current events.
And a vital key to unlocking the understanding of all these prophecies and warnings concerning God’s people, His inheritance, the house or people of Israel, is to recognize, from the biblical record and prophecy, that their "seed" or descendants are presently among the Nations "whose God is the Lord". They are descendants of the lost ten tribes of the house of Israel who were brought into captivity by the Assyrians around 722 BC.
They were eventually released, and unable to return to their former land as a result of that land being given to others (Gentiles), they then migrated throughout Europe.
They then migrated to England, and from there, the descendants of Ephraim to the British company or "multitude of nations", fulfilling a prophecy given to Ephraim by Israel his grandfather. And also fulfilling a prophecy given to Ephraim's brother Manasseh by Israel, one of those nations became a single great nation - the United States of America.
We will now turn our focus to the house of Israel.
King Solomon was the last unifying shepherd for the house of Israel, all twelve tribes of Israel, God’s inheritance. But even he fell into worshipping the gods of the nations around him by chasing after and following the customs of the women of those nations. Notice, from 1Kings chapter 11:
King Solomon Turns from the Lord
1Ki 11:1 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;
1Ki 11:2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, You shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.
1Ki 11:3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
1Ki 11:4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods [idolatry; paganism]: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.
1Ki 11:5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
At this point, I would like to encourage any who have stuck it out this far to prove all these things and hold fast what seems good and right to you:
1Th 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
Here are some things I have uncovered about these gods from the internet beginning with Ashtoreth:
Ashtoreth, also known as Astarte, is an ancient Near Eastern goddess associated with fertility, sexuality, and warfare34. Her worship dates back to the Bronze Age and she was revered in regions such as Canaan and Phoenicia4. While her origins predate modern holidays, she has been connected to festivals like the Feast of Tammuz and Ishtar1.
Notice the reference to Tammuz here in Ezekiel 8:14 while the prophet Ezekiel was taken up in a vision from God showing him the idolatrous abominations of both the house of Israel and the house of Judah (after God separated the house of Israel into two houses or peoples) around the temple:
Eze 8:14 Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD'S house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.
Weeping because the women were observing a pagan god festival which requires weeping for Tammuz. Notice from Britannica:
The cult of Tammuz centred around two yearly festivals—one celebrating his marriage to the goddess Inanna [or Ishtar], the other lamenting his death at the hands of demons from the netherworld.
Now for the jaw-dropping truth of the birthday of this ancient, pagan god Tammuz associated with demons:
Tammuz, a legendary figure, was born on December 25th, which coincided with the Winter Solstice. His birth was honored in ancient rituals, and part of the celebration involved cutting down a young evergreen tree to commemorate his premature death.
Should that not send a red flag of warning to any who claim to love God about observing Christmas, a day nowhere mentioned or connected with Jesus Christ in the Bible and linked to worshipping a pagan god?
Now on to Ishtar from Britannica and the most important statement linking the goddess Inanna or Ishtar to Easter:
Ishtar’s primary legacy from the Sumerian tradition is the role of fertility figure;
Explaining the connection to rabbits and eggs used in pagan fertility worship.
And when did this particular fertility worship disguised as Easter begin? Again from Britannica:
The earliest recorded observance of an Easter celebration comes from the 2nd century.
After the death of Jesus Christ who commanded the observance of the passover with bread and wine when He said “do this in remembrance of me” (Luk 22:19; 1Co 11: 24-25).
Next from 1Ki 11:5 we will look at Milcom, the abomination the Ammonites.
From the internet:
Milcom is usually regarded as the same as Molech, although the latter was worshipped in a different place and manner, namely, by the offering of children in the flames of the valley of Hinnom1. Milcom is also an Ammonite god.
Would you not call being associated with a tradition in any way, shape or form that sacrifices children to a fire an abomination?
1Ki 11:7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech [the pagan god worshipped by sacrificing to it the lives of children], the abomination of the children of Ammon.
I would hope that there is now a clear understanding of why God labels idolatry, clearly covered with the fingerprints of devils, as an abomination.
Lev 18:21 And you shall not let any of your seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shall you profane the name of your God: I am the LORD.
And the penalty for this child sacrifice:
Punishment for Child Sacrifice
Lev 20:1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,
Lev 20:2 Again, you shall say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among Israel, that gives any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.
Lev 20:3 And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he has given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.
Lev 20:4 And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he gives of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not:
Lev 20:5 Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.
Again we see that pagan worship involving idolatry (pagan statues, images, jewelry that is worshipped or held in some kind of religious esteem to a pagan god) cuts us off from God.
Now, the next verse, concerning familiar spirits which are devils or demons:
Lev 20:6 And the soul that turns after such as have familiar spirits [mediums or sorcerers], and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
Lev 20:7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be you holy: for I am the LORD your God.
Lev 20:8 And you shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you.
And from the internet concerning familiar spirits:
Familiar spirits are spirits or demons that serve or prompt mediums or sorcerers. The Bible forbids consulting with familiar spirits and warns of the dangers of witchcraft and necromancy.
Which mediums perform when claiming to be connecting with the dead, when in reality, they are connecting with familiar spirits – demons.
And here, from the internet, concerning black magic:
Many modern-day wizards study the “dark arts,” also known as “black magic,” while others prefer “white magic.” Black magic in particular is closely associated with Satanism and includes invoking demons and evil spirits and hexing or cursing other people.
Again, no surprise that God turns His back on these abominations.
Now white magic:
White magic has traditionally referred to the use of supernatural powers or magic for selfless purposes. Practitioners of white magic have been given titles such as wise men or women, healers, white witches or wizards.
Regardless of their best intentions, they are breaking a clear commandment from God to stay away from those kinds of practices. And finally, the abomination of Moab - Chemosh:
Chemosh (Moabite: 𐤊𐤌𐤔, romanized: Kamōš; Biblical Hebrew: כְּמוֹשׁ, romanized: Kəmōš) is a Canaanite deity worshipped by Ancient Semitic-speaking peoples who occupied the region known in the Hebrew Bible as Moab, in modern-day Jordan east of the Dead Sea, during the Levantine Bronze and Iron Ages.
And so, the underlying point of all this idolatry and paganism (devil worship - Rev 9: 20; 1Co 10:21) is that King Solomon disobeyed God by aligning himself with the very false gods he had been warned about, gods that the one true God labels abominations, gods that cut us off from having a relationship with the one and only true God.
Continuing with 1Ki 11:6:
1Ki 11:6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.
You just do not read anywhere that David fell into worshipping pagan gods of the nations around him, and as a result of that loyalty, he will be king over all of the house of Israel once again when he is resurrected (Act 2:29, 34; 13:34; Jer 30:7-9).
1Ki 11:7 Then did Solomon build a high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.
1Ki 11:8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.
1Ki 11:9 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,
Now, consider these verses from our Lord Jesus Christ:
Joh 20:29 Jesus says unto him, Thomas, because you have seen me [after Jesus' resurrection], you have believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Solomon had the Lord God of the house of Israel appear unto him twice and could not believe enough to stay away from pagan worship which is idolatry. And why are those who believe blessed?
Luk 11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
Including His 2nd commandment not to commit idolatry by worshipping statues and images of paganism that have roots in devil worship.
Continuing in 1Kings, we will now see the outcome of Solomon's disobedience to God:
1Ki 11:10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.
Now here is where we come to the prophecy (and all true prophecy is of God) of the separation of the house of Israel who will, after the separation, then be referred to as the house of Judah (Judah and Benjamin and only some of the Levites (priests), not the full tribe, who remained in the area around Jerusalem) and the house of Israel - the remaining 10 tribes along with the other part of the Levites which would eventually be spread out among the nations.
Here is the prophecy and judgement:
1Ki 11:11 Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of you, and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely rend [Hebrew: cut out; tear] the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant.
1Ki 11:12 Notwithstanding in your days I will not do it for David your father's sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of your son.
You can continue reading in 1Kings 11 for a greater understanding of the tearing of the house of Israel into two houses. But our focus is going to be on the ten tribes of the house of Israel, a name kept due to a prophecy given by Jacob - Israel (Gen 48:14-16).
Both the houses of Judah and Israel continue to deal treacherously with God today:
Jer 5:11 For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, says the LORD.
Now, when the prophecy of separation was fulfilled, the twelve tribes of Israel became the house of Judah (Jews) and the house of Israel.
Jeroboam, the king of the resulting ten tribes of the house of Israel, moved them north to Shechem. He then hand-picked and ordered priests loyal to him to create gods of worship for the people to keep them from returning to Jerusalem for God’s Holy days for fear that they might stay and return to the King of Judah and eventually turn against him - Jeroboam.
The following verse describes the ten tribes of Israel coming out from the area around Jerusalem along with their lack of truth and their unrighteousness concerning God:
Isa 48:1 Hear you this, O house of Jacob [Israel], which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah [area around Jerusalem], which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.
The lack of truth and unrighteousness, along with traditions of idolatry and paganism, continued with all the kings that ruled after Jeroboam right up to the eventual punishment of the house of Israel by complete captivity by God using the Assyrians (Hos 8:8,9, 12; 9:3), a people God describes as “the work of His hands” as we saw in Isaiah 19:25.
They were never to return from where they were taken but be eventually released and spread or sifted among the nations:
Hos 9:17 My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
Amo 9:9 For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.
After they were released from Assyrian captivity, the house of Israel migrated and spread throughout Europe, where many migrated to England. The descendants of Ephraim and Manasseh in particular, due to fulfilling of prophecy as we shall see later on, migrated to America and the British English-speaking nations.
A few had the truth of God, but the rest, the many, were still steeped in the traditions of false Christianity and paganism which was thriving in Europe at the time of this mass migration. Notice this article from the internet concerning the early days of Christianity:
The Serpent on the Cross Becomes Jesus on the Cross
by Moe | Oct 22, 2013 | History of the Brotherhood, Irish History, Meaning of Symbols |
The ancient serpent-god of the Gnostics [those with thoughts and practices of various cults which ultimately are pagan thoughts and practices outside of the word of God, the Holy Bible] from the East was Serapis. The various spellings of the name Serapis are, Sor-apis (Σέραπις, Attic/Ionian Greek), Sarapis (Σάραπις, Dorian Greek), Serapin (Greek Ὄφις), or in Hebrew, Seraph. All these names mean ‘serpent.’ The name ‘seraphim’, is the plural form of serpent and is also said to mean, “the burning ones.” Serapis is the Hellenized version of the Egyptian Osiris-Apis.
Serapis is the serpent on the cross that was also the precursor to the Christian Christ, who would take the serpents place upon the cross in this Sixth Age under the religion of Christianity. Before the Christian era, the most ancient worship of the serpent was practiced in many areas of the world.
And if I may: just as its replacement, a dead Jesus on a cross, is worshipped in many areas of the world today, especially by the nations housing the descendants of the house of Israel who brought pagan traditions with them.
The United States of America's founding fulfilled a prophecy given by Jacob (Israel) to Manasseh. And the early founding of the company or multitudes of nations known as the British English-speaking nations fulfilled a prophecy given to Manasseh's brother Ephraim.
Notice here in Genesis where Jacob gives these prophecies in the form of blessings to the two sons of Joseph, father of the tribe of Joseph from the 12 tribes of Israel:
Gen 48:1 And it came to pass after these things, that one told Joseph, Behold, your father is sick: and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.
Gen 48:2 And one told Jacob, and said, Behold, your son Joseph comes unto you: and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.
Gen 48:3 And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,
Gen 48:4 And said unto me, Behold, I will make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will make of you a multitude of people; and will give this land to your seed after you for an everlasting possession.
Gen 48:5 And now your two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto you in the land of Egypt before I came unto you into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.
Ephraim and Manasseh are a part of Israel under the tribe of Joseph their father and Israel their grandfather.
Gen 48:6 And your issue [offspring], which you beget after them, shall be yours, and shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance.
Gen 48:7 And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet there was but a little way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of Ephrath; the same is Bethlehem.
Gen 48:8 And Israel beheld Joseph's sons, and said, Who are these?
Gen 48:9 And Joseph said unto his father, They are my sons, whom God has given me in this place. And he said, Bring them, I pray you, unto me, and I will bless them.
Gen 48:10 Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he could not see. And he brought them near unto him; and he kissed them, and embraced them.
Gen 48:11 And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see your face: and, lo, God has showed me also your seed.
Gen 48:12 And Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth.
Gen 48:13 And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought them near unto him.
Gen 48:14 And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.
Gen 48:15 And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,
Gen 48:16 The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name [Israel] be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.
In the midst of the earth meaning among or throughout the earth. And we must remember that even though God caused the house of Israel to be separated into the house of Judah (Jews in the middle east) and the house of Israel (a multitude in the midst of the earth), Ephraim and Manasseh had Israel's name "named on them". Therefore, the recipients of the blessings given to Ephraim and Manasseh are descendants of the tribe of Joseph from the house of Israel.
So let us go on to learn more about these blessings:
Gen 48:17 And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head.
Gen 48:18 And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put your right hand upon his head.
Gen 48:19 And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people [nation; USA], and he also shall be great [think now about the greatness of the U.S.A, beginning with its early founders who came primarily from Europe]: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.
The British English-speaking nations; United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand among the more prominent.
After their release from Assyrian captivity, the descendants of Ephraim and Manasseh would go on, by the will of God, to fulfill the prophetic blessings given to them by Jacob, or the name he placed on them, Israel:
Now, notice this article about immigrants from all over Europe migrating to England who would have consisted of the house of Israel, including Ephraim and Manasseh.
By the 15th century there were immigrants from all over Europe in Medieval England and they were spread all over the country.
That would of course have included the descendants of the released 10 tribes of Israel who would have assimilated into the languages and traditions of Europe, especially since they were prone to falling into the traditions and customs of the people around them. Let’s review Deu 31:16:
Deu 31:16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods [paganism and idolatry] of the strangers of the land, where they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.
Continuing with the article concerning immigrants from all over Europe in Medieval England:
We know this from documents that have survived including letters, court records and - most of all - tax records in the alien subsidy returns, a list which included details like names, place of residence and sometimes occupations and origins. In the later Middle Ages, all foreign-born males and some females (in cases where they were heads of households) were taxed and their names, occupations and places of residence were written down.
One Medieval historian has said that the records show that no one was more than ten miles away from an immigrant. Foreign-born people included goldsmiths [Isa 40:19; 46:6], bakers, inn-keepers, doctors, priests [Jer 2:8,26,27; 5:31 Eze 22:26; Hos 5:1], farm labourers, tailors, brewers, weavers - in fact, a whole cross-section of occupations in towns and countryside.
Of particular note among these occupations are the priests. How many were true priests of God, only He knows, but one thing is for sure, the majority would have been pagan priests, residing in churches with statues which are idols, thus the wide-spread paganism in the prophesied nations, who claim to be of God, or "whose God is the Lord", but do not what He says.
The greatness of these nations was a result of fulfilled prophesy by God fulfilling the blessings Israel placed on Ephraim and Manasseh and not because of any great wide-spread obedience to God. Notice:
Hos 4:17 Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.
Hos 5:3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, you commit whoredom, and Israel is defiled.
Satan has devised many worldly distractions to keep mankind out of the Holy Bible, the truth of God. But he is unable to prevent a sincerely seeking heart from coming into the knowledge of the truth (Jer 29:14; 1Ti 2:4). May God bless you with such a heart.
Psa 29:2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
Freely I have received, freely I have given.
Farewell,
